About the expert

Dakota is recognized as one of Finland’s most inspiring and impactful speakers. He is a business graduate, internationally certified human rights trainer and workplace culture expert.

Hi, I’m Dakota Robin, and this is my story.

Growing up between cultures in a Kurdish–Finnish family, and later as a transgender man with dyslexia and ADHD, I learned early what it feels like to be different. I also learned how to move between worlds, read a room, and connect with people who see life from very different angles.

Those experiences taught me how to navigate diverse environments and find common ground even when people seem far apart. Over time, that became a natural strength — bringing people together. And eventually, it became my career path and personal mission: to help teams lead with more humanity, kindness, and real connection.

To me, diversity is not a problem to solve; it’s a business asset. Different minds, backgrounds, and ways of seeing the world make teams stronger and smarter. A team full of people who think the same is a team with blind spots. Or, as someone who used to play football competitively, I like to put it: an entire football team made of goalkeepers won’t win the game.

For more than a decade, I’ve worked with organizations, leaders, and communities to spark change. I don’t bring ready-made answers. I bring real stories, practical tools, and a space where people can safely reflect, challenge their thinking, and grow together.

Magic happens when people feel safe, seen, and valued, not for fitting in, but for being who they truly are. That’s the foundation I try to help build wherever I go.
